Are any of these brushes for blending eyeshadow?

i want to buy these brushes but i am a tad bit concerned lol... i really want a brush for blending my eyeshadow, but i don't really know/think that any of these would do a good job with that...

i'm not at all a guru with these types of things though, so can anybody tell me if one of them would actually be pretty good for blending??

http://www.eyeslipsface.com/studio_brush鈥?/a>

you can also click on the video tab above the description of the brushes to see them in an actual 3d view rather than just a picture...Are any of these brushes for blending eyeshadow?
I would definatly reccomend getting some of these brushes if not the whole set. I've got 3 and they are amazing. They are definatly great if starting out in makeup and very very cheap.

As above says, the C brush would be great for blending along with the contour brush.

Give them a go :)Are any of these brushes for blending eyeshadow?
The eyeshadow ';c'; brush should do a decent job. I love ELFs products and brushes.

Just went on a huge makeup haul with their products yesterday.
the one thats next to the one that looks like a fan:)

Do any of these brushes look good for blending eyeshadow?

http://www.cvs.com/CVSApp/catalog/shop_p鈥?/a>Do any of these brushes look good for blending eyeshadow?
yeah,

the one to the left of the big white bristled brush,

or maybe even the one next to that.

(:Do any of these brushes look good for blending eyeshadow?
Yes, the forth to the right. The first is for blending liner, the second for applying shadow, the third is a highlighting brush, the forth is a shadow blender, the fifth is for blush/bronzer application, and the sixth is for light bronzing/loose powder application.
Yes they definitely do, You can basically blend any eyeshadow with any brush lol.
Yes.

Do u really need brushes when applying your eyeshadow and what r some helpful websites that will give ideas?

It depends on the kind of look you want. The sponge-tip applicators will put a heavier layer of shadow on, I personally like brushes as it is easier to blend and you can layer the shadow to give you the amount of color you want.Do u really need brushes when applying your eyeshadow and what r some helpful websites that will give ideas?
Use brushes, applicators don't work that well. Plus they get caked up with eyeshadow %26amp; don't go on very well. Acutually I was reading about that on pureluxe.com where they gave tips on using eyeshadow brushes instead of applicators.Do u really need brushes when applying your eyeshadow and what r some helpful websites that will give ideas?
I like brushes for eyeshadow...but it took me a while to get used to the look. I use a Q-tip when I want a dark layer...works like a charm.

Sorry, I don't have a website to give you ideas. I did trial and error to figure out what works best for me.
any soft-tip applicator is the best thing for applying eyeshadow. i'm guessing you mean brushes instead of using your finger, which smudges and doesn't give you the even color all over.
i think it depends on the eye shadow that u r using.if it is dry then u can even use Q-tips and if it is creamy then u need a brush and u cant find some tips at google or yahoo and if you wanna see how to apply eye shadow then u can see a video at google or yahoo.
Applying a powder eyeshadow with any applicator causes the eyeshadow to fall in your eyes. Try using eyeshadow that comes in a stick or one that starts as a liquid and then dries. They last longer and don't irritate your eyes as much.
The best makeup brushes are also affordable and are called Paula's Choice. She also sells makeup that is very nice.

She is called the cosmetics cop because she tries and reviews all makeup lines. Try her handy search feature to check out how your favorite brands stack up!

Sharing eyeshadow/foundation brushes?

Am I the only one who finds this kind of disgusting? I went to a ';high end' makeup boutique the other day and the lady who worked there put mineral foundation on my face with the same brush that was out for everyone else to use. There was also a serve yourself station where you could use the same eyeshadow brush as everyone else to try out the eyeshadow. Can we say conjunctivitis?Sharing eyeshadow/foundation brushes?
No, you aren't alone in this. Did you see that episode of Tyra where she goes over all the bacteria that collects in your old makeup alone? Imagine sharing that with strangers. That is disgusting and should definitely be considered unsanitary. Come on now, people!Sharing eyeshadow/foundation brushes?
You absolutely should never do that! You should have asked her to use a new one-or at least a disposable one! My makeup artist uses disposeable on me. People have worse than pink eye-you can also have herpes of the eye as well. If it was high end, they wouldnt have been insulted if you asked for unused brushes on your face.
i totally agree with you. i always refuse to even share my makeup with my friends - you never know. i agree with what's been posted above, ask for disposables, esp if you're paying for something like that, don't take the risk of getting a disease. i also hate where they have like lipglosses/lipsticks you can try on.
I tottaly agree, that's digusting, just imagine sharing bacteria, that's not good.
Oh dude! I hate that! Discusting! I hate those ';try me'; things that everyone else uses! I think you can get stye.
We can say conjunctivitus. Hun, put on your own makeup hence forth. Its suppose to be an art, not an incubis for pathogenic contamination
yes that is very disgusting. you can get an infection. sephora has disposible q-tips and applicator sponges. i worried about that when i was getting fitted for foundation and powder today.

All eyeshadow make up brushes?

theres so many. which one is a necessity for a girl who loves eye shadow?

a know about a crease brush and a smudge brush..what else? All eyeshadow make up brushes?
i think every girl needs in general other than eyeshadow a foundation brush and blush brush contouring brush then for eyeshadow an eyeshadow brush a crease brush and a blending brush if you want somthing not as expensive as somthing like mac the go to costal scents they have really good brushes that are really well priced

http://www.coastalscents.com/cfwebstore/鈥?/a>All eyeshadow make up brushes?
here are the necessity brushes to apply make-up

# Foundation brush. With cream or powder foundation, a foundation brush is key. It gives better and more natural blending than a sponge, and also allows for better control.

# Blush brush. A light touch and an excellent brush is absolutely necessary with blush.

# Brow brush. This stiff, spiral and wiry brush is used to catch the hard-to-move hairs of your eyebrows.

# Crease brush. The slightly flared shape of this brush makes it ideal for filling in the crease of your eye with shadow.

# Lid brush. These come in either flat-head or a rounded-head styles. The brush should be about 1/2 an inch wide and very flat.

# Kohl blender: With a good eyeliner Kohl pencil, you also need a stiff, conical foam blending brush. Run it over the line and the color will blend out--and as a bonus, any stray marks will fade in.

# Concealer brush. If you have a blemish or dark circles that you would prefer be covered up, apply your concealer after your foundation. It helps it set and blend better.

this is one of my fav brushes ever, I use it ALL the time with my applications.

';Professionnel All Over Shadow Brush - Large #21

What it is:

This brush applies shadow to the entire lid, evenly.

What it does:

The wide shape and condensed, evenly distributed bristles make sure that your whole lid is uniformly covered in just a couple strokes. The thicker handle gives you more control as well. It's a must-have for applying any base color effortlessly.';

  • Mac Brushes? Eyeshadow?

First of all what are the essential brushes? and if i use an eyeshadow brush for like a yellow, and reuse it with a pink the next day, will the yellow show? Do i have to wash it everyday so the color doesn't stick to the brush ? And how much all together will the essential brushes cost?Mac Brushes? Eyeshadow?
    217- blending brush, $22.50

    219- pencil brush, $23

    239- shading brush, $24.50

    266- eyeliner $19

I think these are 4 essential brushes for eye makeup. That's about $100.

If you use yellow, then want to use pink the next day, just dust off the brush on your hand and it'll be fine. You can buy the MAC brush cleaner for $10 and wash your brushes a couple times per week. Put a little bit of the brush cleaner on a paper towel and then move the brush back and forth until it's clean.Mac Brushes? Eyeshadow?
You have to wash your brushes every 1-2 weeks. It really depends on your skin type (people with oily skin should wash their brushes every week). The brushes you would really need for makeup application from MAC would cost a lot. I suggest buying a simple brush set from Sephora or a drugstore (especially if you're new to makeup).
Mary Kay has a really good brush set for $45 that's what I have and I love them. It has 2 for eyes one for blush, powder, and one that is for eyebrows w/ a mascara comb.
It will be over a hundred and you don't need to wash the brushes more frequently than once a week. And when you do, use a mild shampoo and shape to dry so it doesn't dry all kinked to one side. Some like to also use conditioner to keep the bristles soft. I find that regular drugstore brand brushes are just fine and a lot cheaper-- you can get a whole collection for a fifth of the price of the MAC brushes.

    Good Luck! :)
the brush question(esenttials) omg they whole set would range from 30-50 depends on how many u want and quality. they next question about the color u do not have to wask it evereyday but it is good to clean it after about 3-4 days after depending on how much u use. omg and from my experience the color won't show unless u try to brush it out on ur hand before each use

    good luck

    Eyeshadow brushes....????

Does anyone know of any GOOD but not-too-expensive brush sets to use for eyeshadow??? I want to try using brushes (instead of those little sponge applicator stick things) because they've been recommended to me. I don't wear makeup too often so I don't always know what to use or where to go haha. If you know of a specific place %26amp; price please include that info. Thanks!!

(I'm thinking it would be easier to do certain things with brushes cause my eyes are more round than any other shape %26amp; seem to be lower on the outside corners...not fun. *Sigh*)Eyeshadow brushes....????
If you have a Target where you live, go check out the Sonia Kashuk brushes. She makes several different sizes for applying eye shadow, my favorite is the medium. The retractable blush brush is another good choice. These brushes are very high quality and wash easily with brush cleaner (spray and tissue off) or baby shampoo. I prefer her eyeshadow brush over my more expensive ones.Eyeshadow brushes....????
Thats great. Keep checking the selection, she often changes the the color of the brushes and available sizes. I've never bought her compact (mini) brushes, always the full size ones. Love those. Report Abuse

well, I don't know if Target was included in your list of etceteras but I got a couple of brushes from there once and they turned out to be pretty good. The brand is Sonia Kashuck and a set of 7essential brushes is 13.99. Or you could try Sephora.com they have sets from $5 to $150 depending on what you are looking for and how much you want to spend.

The set I have now is from Estee Lauder and I've had it for about a year and a half, they are still in great condition they work great and I spend $50 on them.
    Well i would recommend you to use ';Elianto';

    Its a korean brand

    and its really really cheap

    They come in different sizes
they might be a little over priced but Mac has some really durable and great eyeshadow brushes, i have all my brushes from there and i have had them for almost three years now, the greatest brushes ever
You can find eyeshadow brushes in most any store....CVS, Walgreens, Wal-Mart, etc.
I don't kno... but I'd watch this question because I'm fed up of using those stupid sponge things too

Is it better to have different eyeshadow brushes for different colors?

Such as one for just brown tones, etc? I have never owned an eyeshadow brush and I wondered if it would matter. Is it better to have different eyeshadow brushes for different colors?
Not for different colors but different effects. A tapered shadow brush for the lid, a crease brush for the contour area, a highlighter brush for the brow and a blending brush so it will look flawless. If you need to use the same brush for multiple colors there is a great product to try called ';Quick Change';. It's made my Bare Escentuals. It's a spray that you spray on a paper towel and rub your brushes on it. It takes all the pigment out and dries within seconds so you can go right onto another color and not get the colors mixed. I use it in my make-up kit all the time. It's like $16 or $18 they have it @ sephora or sephora.com. Hope this helped. Have fun!!!!!Is it better to have different eyeshadow brushes for different colors?
Well, it would be more ideal to have more, and what not, so you don't use the same one for every tone.

But don't go crazy and buy THAT much because in the end, it's not that important, it's only eye shadow brushes, don't waste a fortune.
    how old are you?

    lol

yes for darker colors which you usually put at the crease of your eyelid, is an angle tipped brush or you could get a blending brush

makeup artistry can get complicated, but just browse brushes at mac
yes you need different brushes. q-tips are wonderful

You dont need expensive brushes, as long as you have a soft brissle brush and you know how to blend carefully, you'll achieve the look you want.

    Eyeshadow Brushes? (Cosmetic!!)?

So, I've been going like CRAZY trying to figure out what types of

    eyeshadow brushes i should have.

Like, do i need a blending brush, a huge eyeshadow brush, a small one. Please help me !! I've seen eyeshadow brushes that are synthetic, and then ones that are liek rlly big. Help me !!

I use makeup a lot, but i see tons of people with like trillions of eyeshadow brushes.

If you can, please give some examples of cheap eyeshadow brushes, like from eyeslipsface.com, thebrushcompany.com, and coastalscents.com

One or two MAC Brushes are okay, because SOON (not now) But SOON I will make a resolution to buy one MAC brush per paycheck .. Gotta catch em all !!Eyeshadow Brushes? (Cosmetic!!)?
Picking out the right make up brush is a actually a pain...especially for our budget. Most people prefer MAC, of course, because of the quality.

Since it looks like you already decided to get MAC brushes, then i suggest you buy:

-MAC 217 - a bit fluffy, %26amp; it works great on pressed eyeshadows... %26amp; one thing about it, is that it's fluffy so you can also use it to blend colors. 224 is a blender brush, its fluffier than this one %26amp; does a better job in blending, but i think 217 does a good job already.

-MAC 239 - a flat brush %26amp; it's great for packing colors on your lid, but you can't do shading %26amp; blending on that brush, though personally i think an ordinary ELF brush also does a good job on packing colors. %26amp; this type of brush is better for mineral eyeshadows, because minerals are loose powders %26amp; flat brushes hold them better than fluffy ones.

-MAC 242 - a filbert cut taklon brush, if you like to use cream based shadows, then i suggest you get this one. Cream eyeshadows %26amp; primers are the ones where you can use this brush with

-MAC 266 - another angle brush though it's smaller, this one is good for creating sharp lines. the hair is more natural compare to other brush which is synthetic. What's great about 266 is that you can use it to line your lashlines specially if you use gel liners.

-MAC 219 - a pencil brush, now this one is goof for smudging. especially if you wanted to create a smoky look. Use it to smudge your eyeliner.

Anyway, to make it short it will be as follows:

    217 - for blending %26amp; packing colors

239 - for packing colors especially for loose eyeshadows

    242 - for cream based eye make-ups

266 - to line your lashlines

    219 - for smudging

i found this nifty youtuber who gives good tutorials about make-up basics like brushes, shading %26amp; all stuff about make up. he doesn't do make up tutorials, but i recommend that you subscribe to him because his ideas are great! Like this video its about MAC brush vs painting brushes...a great alternative to MAC brushes!

If i were to buy foundation, eyeshadow, lipgloss, lipstick and brushes at SEPHORA how much would it cost?

ya if i were to buy like the whole makeup deal at SEPHORA how much would it be?If i were to buy foundation, eyeshadow, lipgloss, lipstick and brushes at SEPHORA how much would it cost?
if you buy Sephora brands ...like the acutal SEPHORA brand it would come to probably 50-100 bucks depending on how much you want but you could spend up to 300 bucks on a line there. average cost of lip gloss and shadow there can be from 20-30 dollars. brushes can be expensive too.If i were to buy foundation, eyeshadow, lipgloss, lipstick and brushes at SEPHORA how much would it cost?
it reaaally does depend on the brands. like up the front is the cheap stuff and as you work your way to the back of the store it gets more expensive, so if you were going to go sort of middle range for all of that i guess it'd be about $50.. kinda of expensive ehh
    well----------it would depend

but i would say $100 you could get set up.

4 me it would take atleast $200 -

    good luck
uhh... don't even bother - wayyy too expensive, you can get as good as products at regular drug stores.
    Depends on the brands.
It depends on the makeup brands, but a good foundation runs around 20-30$, eyeshadow would be about 10$, lipstick 10$, lipgloss 7$ brushes about 20$ each. So the whole deal should cost you over fifty dollars, under one hundred dollars.
just depends do they come toghther or seperate? if they come toghther then its all one price but if they are sepertaet then i have no clue how nuch it will cost. sorry. :(
    does depend on the brands

what is the best MAC eye brush? Which one do you like better, the 217 or the 224? What is the MUST have eye brush?

are there any other brushes that are cheaper/the same price that are really good too?Eyeshadow brushes?
I get my brushes from Crown brushes on the internet. They're also at shows and my guess is they probably make most of the brand name brushes on the market.

    http://www.crownbrush.com/Default.htm

    http://www.crownbrush.com/ONCAT5.htm

There's a long handled version as well. I'd also purchase an S217 - oval crease brush, S226 - hard sable brow (buy 2 of these as they are also good for lining), S206 - Deluxe chisel fluff, and on the next page I'd go with S229 - again two of these (one for eye liner, one for lining lips).

If you're hell bent on M.A.C. like so many are, I'd go with the 224 unless you work with creams or pigments w/ a moisture medium. The 217 seems to work better with creams.

Also try Sephora brushes. Great quality for half the price of M.A.C. Can't tell the difference. But Crown is the real place to go. You can literally have an entire pro brush set for under $30. If you throw in another 10 you could probably have a great case.

Shu Uemera makes the best brushes, hands down. They're always winning magazine editor awards and they're the best I've owned.

Chanel makes a nice long handle one too.

On a budget, Target has a line with that woman's name - Sonia Kashuk (something like that) and they're supposed to be the best lower end brushes. Never tried them, but read it in a few magazines.

Keep in mind you do get what you pay for. Take care of your $30 brush and it will last as long as ten $5 brushes.
If you don't want to spend a ton of money, like the other person said on here Sonia Kashuk, at Target... they are really great brushes... I love them... And would definitely reccomend them... The celebrity look on the other hand, wont come as easy as just finding some brushes... That has to be achieved by learning techniques and color coordination and all that... My best advice... Just play around with some brushes and colors, and develop your own technique that looks best for YOU...
Invest in a good set of brushes. They will last a long time if you take care of them. The best for the money are in the Mary Kay Brush Collection.
Bee Luscious Cosmetics natural sable and goat hair, my personal favorites when working on clients.
The Body Shop has some nice brushes.

Although cheaper than MAC brushes, they are a bit expensive.

I know of a brand in SHOPPERS DRUG MART called Quo.

They make fairly cheap nice brushes.

And you could always try Wal*Mart.

    :)
MAC brushes are so worth the money!

But if you absolutely cannot afford them, I got a half-decent set of brushes from Costco for $20. My friend had to borrow my good set for her wedding, and I had forgotten to keep a few to use for myself, so picked those up.

Are ';angled eyeshadow brushes'; and ';eye brow powder'; brushes the same?

eye brow powder brushes are brushes used to apply ';eyebrow color'; to fill in eye brows,

I looked in many stores and can't seem to find any ';eye brow powder brushes'; i looked in walgreens walmart target k-mart....i only found one at sephora but they are pricey. Anyone know where to buy one?Are ';angled eyeshadow brushes'; and ';eye brow powder'; brushes the same?
Mary Kay's brush set has a double ended eyeshadow brush with eye brow brush on the other end. I use eyeshadow to color in my eyebrows. Are ';angled eyeshadow brushes'; and ';eye brow powder'; brushes the same?
    M.A.C
Hmm, I think you're having trouble because I don't think many people apply powder to thier brows. Perhaps you'd be better off using a gel and an eyebrow comb. It will last longer and you can get an exact line.

Talk to me about eyeshadow brushes?

    what's good for putting shadow:

    all over the lid

    in the crease

    in the outer corner

    and then one for blending

and where can i get them decent but cheap? i am out of work (won't be for long, hopefully, because i'm graduating college in december!) i heard you can get them from michaels, which is bizarre because thats and arts %26amp; crafts store...Talk to me about eyeshadow brushes?
MAC is the best quality brushes. But very very expensive. So if you prefer something less high quality but cheaper, go to target, near the nail sections, near the TRIM section, and get those brushes by Studio Tools, Crease and Contouring and blending brush, Eye shadow in Medium brush, and for the outer just you the crease one.Talk to me about eyeshadow brushes?
    Longs, Target, Wal-Mart...

The neutrogena make-up line has a special thing that you choose your eye colour and then it comes with all the shadows in a pallet and shows you were to put them. It comes with the shadows that look best with your eye color and the prices are good. so look into that...
Michaels sells paint brushes for sure, which maybe some people substitute for makeup brushes, but I personally wouldn't count on them lasting as long. I know that Mary Kay sells a full set of makeup brushes for around $40, this includes several eye makeup brushes which a consultant would be happy to show you how to use. To find a consultant in your area, just go to marykay.com and there is a link to find a consultant in your area. Many of the brushes in the set are available individually if the set is too much for you now. Or you could agree to hostess a ';party'; for your friends and the consultant may allow you to earn points for the brush set to get it cheaper.

Congrats on graduating, and good luck with the job search.

edit: I forgot to mention that the MK brushes are of high quality, though I don't know how the price compares to other sets. I have a couple of current customers who have been using their powder brushes for years now and still love them.

Eyeshadow Brushes? What do I use?

How many would a novice need? What type and what's a nice, affordable brush?Eyeshadow Brushes? What do I use?
    hmm... well..

for a novice,, you just need 3-4 basic types of eyeshadow brush...

    YOU NEED

    a. Basic Eyeshadow Brush

    http://www.eyeslipsface.com.au/shop/imag鈥?/a>

you need to make sure the bristles are so dense and so it packed the color of your eyeshadow really well.... as for the size,, just make sure it fits your lids... not too big and not too small....

    RECOMMENDED :

    1. ELF eyeshadow brush

    http://www.eyeslipsface.com/brushes/eye_鈥?/a>

( def. favored by most makeup artists in youtube as it's so dense yet still soft )

    2. Coastal Scents Pink Oval Fluff Shadow Brush

    3. Coastal Scents Black on Black Sable Shadow Brush

    http://www.coastalscents.com/cfwebstore/鈥?/a>

    4. Italian Badger Chisel Fluff Brush

    http://www.coastalscents.com/cfwebstore/鈥?/a>

( not really dense, but goof for back up )

    b. Blending Brush

basically there are lots of types of blending brush so i just spill 'em out here

i personally like the last one because it does its job... blending colors and it is also dense enough... so soft and you can also use it to apply your highlight colors... however, the first one is highly recommended if you want to create more of a professional look.. i mean like,, most MUA in youtube are using those, so yeah...

    c. Small Crease Brush

i highly recommend this one for the application of color to your crease... especially if you have a small space of crease on your lids like me....

    RECOMMENDED :

    http://www.coastalscents.com/cfwebstore/鈥?/a>

it's Coastal Scents Italian Badger Round Crease Brush and it really fits my crease area and so it gives me more controls in applying colors to my crease or just to define my outer V..

    definitely a must have...

    so i think that's all..

you probably wanna consider buying eyeliner brush if you're using mousse eyeliner or small angled brush to create more of a defined look.. but basically those three i mentioned are more than enough for a novice look

hope this helpsEyeshadow Brushes? What do I use?
I use a few different ones. A good basic set is the Sephora Antibacterial ones; they are super inexpensive (only $75 for 7 brushes!!), work well, last a while, and get the job done. I have / got some other eyeshadow brushes to add to the set, just for kicks, but it is a pretty good basic set.

    I hope this helps!

Oh, and you can find them at www.sephora.com. Just go to tools, then brushes, then Sephora Brand.
75.00 for some brushes? girl please!!

walgreens, has some brushes, that is eco friendly, thats under 10.00 or you can just go to earthglominerals.com. All their brushes are natural and cost under 12.00. forget paying all that money for just an eyeshadow brush.

What makeup brush should i use to put eyeshadow on my bottom lashes as eyeliner?

i like the look where people smudge dark eyeshadow onto the corner of their eyes where their bottom eyelashes are, but i don't know what brush to use for this. would this one work?

    http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P189141%26amp;categoryId=C17387%26amp;shouldPaginate=true

it says it's for eyeliner on the top, but could i use it for this purpose? if not what kind of brush?

also, would i be able to use a shimmery black eyeshadow for this or would it have to be matte?

if this doesn't make sense i'll add more details. What makeup brush should i use to put eyeshadow on my bottom lashes as eyeliner?
You can either use a flat liner brush, a pencil brush, or a small angled brush. Really ANY liner brush will do. That brush is fine.

It shouldn't matter what finish the shadow is in. So whether it's a shimmer, matte, or anything else it should still be usable. What makeup brush should i use to put eyeshadow on my bottom lashes as eyeliner?
I wouldn't really go with that particular brush because it might not pick up enough eyeshadow. Go for an angled eyeliner brush like this:

    http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jh鈥?/a>

That'll pick up enough eyeshadow and it's flat enough to get a thin line on your bottom lashes. And you can feel free to use a shimmery black eyeshadow if you want, but make sure that the glitter is very fine so none of it falls off and gets in your eyes. Good luck!
I personally use this brush on myself and clients.

    http://www.maccosmetics.com/templates/pr鈥?/a>

It gives a soft blended eyeshadow under the eye look.

I'd use a Matte eyeshadow i don't really like shimmery black, because they look grey when blended.
Yes that's the correct brush. I use this brush for all my shadows. Both matte and shimmery.
I wouldn't suggest using that for applying eyeshadow. I mean, you definately could use that, but theres an easier brush.

This is the one I use.

    http://www.maccosmetics.com/templates/pr鈥?/a>

You can use it to apply a line of dark eyeshadow on your top lids to and it looks just like eyeliner. :]

Because it's angled it helps you keep the line straight. Usually I'll put some eyeshadow on. And then I dip the tip of the brush into a little bit of water. Then I put it in some darker eyeshadow and make a small line just along my lashlines on the upper and lower part of my eye. It looks really nice, and its fast.

What r the most 3 important mac brushes((for eyeshadow only)?!?

ok, i dont have a lotta money so if i could only buy 3 brushes for the eyeshadow frm mac, which three would b the most important and why? i really dont know what each brush is for lol..but i wanna learn how to do my eyeshadow better! thnx!!

p.s. i do know they r alllll important but if i could only choose 3.. thnx! What r the most 3 important mac brushes((for eyeshadow only)?!?
239 is a must for placing colour.

217 is great for the crease and blending

the 216 for pencil smudging and for define creaseWhat r the most 3 important mac brushes((for eyeshadow only)?!?
A must, must, must that you should get is the 217 Blending Brush.

Secondly, you should get an eye shader brush. Probably going with the 239. Perhaps you could try the 219 Pencil Brush. These brushes can be stretched to further uses for the eye.

Also, if you go to this link, it shows all of their brushes and explains what they are used for.

    http://www.maccosmetics.com/product/spp.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CAT145%26amp;PRODUCT_ID=383

If you want to start building a collection, I recommend that around Christmas time they bring out all kinds of deals and even deals to where you can get even 5 of their brushes for $50. The only thing though is that the brushes are already picked as a set.
You know, you could always try out Sigma brushes. They're a little bit cheaper. Also Coastal Scents, has some nice brushes.

I just bought an eyeshadow brush from Cover Girl that works pretty well. Make sure to have plenty of shadow on the brush if you buy it. If I were you I'd keep a few of the tiny applicators on hand just in case though. ;D Plus it blends well. It's relatively inexpensive too.
okay i got these really soft brushes. and i got a set, it came with 3 blush brushes, and 7 different sizes of eye shadow brushes, a fan brush and so much more. the one i have is the 18 piece brushes and only for $22 at beauties-factory.com
If you have the money go with MAC if not than Coastal Scents. Most of coastal scents eyeshadow brushes are less than $2.00 and they are compatible to MAC brushes. I have about 15 of their brushes.

    Best eyeshadow brushes?

I've been looking at Sephora and a few other makeup sites with reviews to try to find the best eyeshadow brushes. Some places said Bare Minerals, most said Nars or MAC. Any of these or any other quality brushes you would recommend would be much appreciated!Best eyeshadow brushes?
    DON'T buy Sephora Brand brushes.

They're about 5 dollars more expensive than other brand brushes and aren't as good quality.

I love MAC brushes but I find that some of the ELF Studio brushes (3 dollars each!!!) can get the same effects.

For high end brushes I recommend MAC all the way.

For less expensive but amazing quality brushes I recommend ELF brushes and Sonia Kushak brushes from Target.Best eyeshadow brushes?
I get my makeup brushes from Target. I usually buy Sonia Kashuk brand brushes because they are high quality but are not expensive. I saw a blush brush at Sephora that was like $20 and the Sonia Kashuk brush was only $10.

    3 Basic MAC Eyeshadow Brushes?

I would like to know what are the 3 basic or most commonly used MAC eyeshadow brushes out there. That is, one for packing on color, shading/blending and I guess defining the outter V. Thank you! Bring on the feedback!3 Basic MAC Eyeshadow Brushes?
    217 for the V

239 could be for lid and highlight

224 to blend3 Basic MAC Eyeshadow Brushes?
I would say the 242 for packing on colour and 219 for defining the outter v. I have both and they are my essential brushes :) My blending brush isn't MAC but it is similar to the 224 I believe. It's a little bit fluffier and softer than some blending brushes. If you want something a bit tougher to blend out more roughly maybe the 222 would be good for you.

    Hope that helps!
i use 242 for putting on color

224 or 275 for the blending/smokey effect (depending on what i'm doing really defines which brush i'm using but i probably just 224 more - one is angled, one is just rounded)

and i LOVE LOVE LOVE 263 for lining (works great on brows too)
get sigma brushes, they are comparable to mac brushes, and really cheap.

I dont know what my brush is called, but go the store and buy the softest brush you can, try to mix it up and get a few different sizes. My main brush I got at target for $7. As long as its shapely and soft, it will work just fine.

    Which MAC eyeshadow brushes?

I want get eyeshadow brushes but I don't know which ones to get. Any recommendations?Which MAC eyeshadow brushes?
CHOICES: 1-5 (1 being the highest)

    1. Mac's 242 Shader Brush ($23): A great brush for applying eyeshadow bases like Mac paints, paintpots, and UDPP. Also great for applying concealer on the heavier side and for 'packing' on eyeshadow. It's Mac sister brush is the Mac 252 Large Shader Brush, both does the same purpose but I recommend the 242 because it's easier to control and it can get to the hard to reach places that a Mac 252 can't reach.

    2. Mac's 239 Eye Shading Brush ($24.50): Another great brush for 'packing' on eyeshadows because it's dense yet soft.

    3. Mac's 217 Blending Brush ($22.50) or Mac's 224 Tapered Blending Brush ($28.00): I had put 'or' for these brushes because their purposes are very similar. Their purpose is to BLEND! It actually comes down to your preference and your crease. The Mac 217 bristles are a bit firmer and more clustered together while Mac 224 bristles are a bit softer and their bristles are kind of spread out. I personally prefer the 217 over the 224, don't get me wrong I do use the 224 but if I had to pick between the two I would go for the 217. These blending brushes can be also used for applying concealer lightly.

    4. Mac's 219 Pencil Brush ($19.00): A great brush for applying eyeshadow as a liner and to smoke out pencil eyeliners. I also use it to apply eyeshadow in the crease then I use a blender brush to blend the colors.

    5. Mac's 266 Small Angle Brush ($19.00): A great brush for applying gel and liquid eyeliners. Some people use this brush to fill in their eyebrows but I prefer a thicker angle brush like Smashbox #12.Which MAC eyeshadow brushes?
217- stiff dome brush for blending, can also be used to all over color 239- just your basic stiff flat shader brush

266- angled, can be used for eyeliner, eyebrows, cutting the crease
219 and 187 are a must the rest you can probably find dupes to but i would recommend the 182, and the 129
The 217 for blending, and 239 for applying eyeshadow. Those are the basic ones I think.

Applying eyeliner/eyeshadow using a angled liner brush?

I've read somewhere online that to prevent black eyeliner from smudging on the bottom of your eyes you can use an angled liner brush by dipping it in water and then dipping it in some eyeshadow the same colour as your eyeliner, and applying it on top of the eyeliner you already have on.

    Is this true?

    If so,

    - What kind of brsuh is an angled liner brush, do you have any pics and where can I find it?

    - What kind of eyeshadow brand is best used for the bottom of my eyes (black coloured)

    - What kind of eyeliner is good (something that doesn't smudge, I've come to realize bonnebell sucks)

    - How would I do the top part of my eyes

Any videos, pics, tutorials would be greatt (:Applying eyeliner/eyeshadow using a angled liner brush?
    http://media.photobucket.com/image/angle鈥?/a>

look for that kind of angle brush.

i use rimmel eyeliner and love it (im a girl who goes heavy on the eyeliner and it doesnt smudge on me at all)

i wouldnt go for black eyeshadow if i were you, use a color to help your eyes pop but if you want black go for wet n wild mega eyes in wicked. its black and sparkly. very pretty.

oh, and for the top part of your eyes...take the angle brush dip it in water and then the shadow and line across your lashline. use a regular eye shadow brush, and using the same shadow blend it across your lid, then use a vanilla/cream color to highlight under your browbone and on the inside corner of your eyes. oh, and of course top with tons of mascara!Applying eyeliner/eyeshadow using a angled liner brush?

  • Where can i buy cosmetic brushes for applying eyeshadow and eyeliner?

oh and also something thats not too expensive. i dont mind 15 dollar ones but i dont want like 30 dollar ones. Thankz!Where can i buy cosmetic brushes for applying eyeshadow and eyeliner?
Sephora (either store or sephora.com) has the widest selection, but a lot of them are expensive. If from Sephora, good mid-price range brushes would be from Benefit or Sephora brand. Ones at drugstores are not usually great quality. You can get decent ones from the Sonia Kashuk Tools collection at Target (the ';Tools'; ones with black handles are better than the regular ones; don't get the regular white ones - they are similar to drugstore kinds) - that would be my recommendation for the mid-price range, if you don't have a Sephora in your area and you want to look at them in person.Where can i buy cosmetic brushes for applying eyeshadow and eyeliner?
The more expensive ones are better quality for applying makeup. (I like Bobbi Brown and Trish McEvoy) but they can set you back up to $80 for one brush. MAC brushes are good as well for middle price range. BUt if you are looking for affordable brushes, try sephora. And even cheaper than sephora is ELF. Almost everything on their website is $1
Ulta is a good place to buy them, and also at Benefit cosmetics online, because I bought some of mine there and they are good and affordable too.

    http://www.benefitcosmetics.com/gp/node/鈥?/a>
They usually sell them at the drug store. You can also try a make up place like Ulta. Better yet - visit Sephora, they have them for free so you can test things....just put some in your pockets too.
I like the CVS brand Essence of Beauty. They have a pretty good selection, the quality is good and they are affordable.
the mall or a drug store loreal brand
even if its little expensive mac brushes are the best
Target carries a brand- Sonia Kashnuk (sp?) These are great brushes, similar to what you can get at MAC for twice as much.
Ummm At Walmart in the Health and Beauty Isle...
Cheap, nice quality, fast shipping. (:
There is this website E.L.F. that sells makeup and brushes for $1 each. Everything is a dollar and this stuff is really good. The shipping is only $5. I've bought all sorts of stuff from there. Check it out.
    um....mac. i tink^^

I use a brush and MAC eyeshadow to ';draw'; my eyebrows on since they are so sparse but I have oily skin and?

they are always wiping off so easily. Is there anything I could use that would make them stay on better. I've even thought about using henna to draw them on so they stay longer but afraid how the ink would look and what if I messed up ya know.I use a brush and MAC eyeshadow to ';draw'; my eyebrows on since they are so sparse but I have oily skin and?
There's a product by a company called Benefit that's called She-Laq and it makes product waterproof. Eyeliner, mascara, whatever. I've heard it's alright with keeping eyeliner and mascara on, but it's fantastic with keeping eyebrows on. Give it a shot, you can find it at Sephora. Good luck!I use a brush and MAC eyeshadow to ';draw'; my eyebrows on since they are so sparse but I have oily skin and?
Brow Zing by Benefit is better but before you apply any brow colour make sure you powder your brows first with a translucent powder, apply your brows then brush lightly with powder again to finish.
Use an eyeshadow base - Urban Decay Primer Potion works good for that
I use Browzing by Benefit, and it seems to work really well. It's wax and powder, so it won't rub off as quickly.

What is the best way to use powder eyeshadow as eyeliner like what brushes and how to apply it really thinly?

Oh, I have just started using powders for eyeliner and it works great. The brush I use is a tiny one that I got from bare minerals. It seems to work a bit better if I dampen it - not too wet though. With the little brush, it is easy to apply it thinly and I smudge it into my eylashes on the top. I have also seen eyliner brushes that are kind of stiff and angled but I haven't tried them. What is the best way to use powder eyeshadow as eyeliner like what brushes and how to apply it really thinly?
you can buy an eye liner brush...

you can find this brush in Eyeslipsface.com for just a dollar! shipping and handeling is like 7 bucks so I suggest you buy more stuff (brushes and tools for just a dollar and some makeup for a dollar too) on the site...but you can find an eye liner brush anywhere where they sell makeup.

if you cant buy a brush just use a regular eyemakeup sponge (the ones that come with the makeup) and use the very tip of it...

    practice makes perfect!

You can damp the brush with water saline solution, or vasine for a more dramatic look!!!!

just go right along your eyelash line or just above it... apply a bit of mascara on your lashes to get rid of any color stuck in your lashesWhat is the best way to use powder eyeshadow as eyeliner like what brushes and how to apply it really thinly?
    buy a thin eyeliner brush

you can pretty much mix most eyeshadows with some water

you can sort of paint it on, if you do it right its really neat and lovely.

to apply it thinly it just takes a lot of practice and the right brush. :]

    gooood luck.
    any thin brush is fine

just dab it on youre tongue (or put a little bit of water on it) choose youre desired coulor.

to aply start from the middle of your eye lashes and work your way to the outer corne the start from the opisite side and work youre way in=) good luck
use the thinest brush you have and just lines your eyes with it , i do it all the time, if you want it to stay on longer try putting some lotion or vaseline where youre going to apply and eyeshadow
Use a very thin angled brush. Dip it in a saline solution (like contact solution) then dip in your eye shadow. I saw it on a make up program and tried it and I havent bought eyeliner since. Its magic!
go to MAC they have every brush you can think of

when you go there they will also tell and show you how to do it!!
    sephora's brushes.

look for a thin angled eyeliner brush

    good luck! :]

How do you clean make up brushes for eyeshadow, blush, etc? Thanks!?

Have to work and wear more makeup....just want to be sure everything is clean! How do you clean make up brushes for eyeshadow, blush, etc? Thanks!?
I place all of my makeup brushes in a container with antibacterial soap swish them and change the water a few times, once they are clean, I rinse them thoroughly and place them on a clean paper towel on a rack and air dry them. I try to do this every other day.How do you clean make up brushes for eyeshadow, blush, etc? Thanks!?
for a cheap and effective way to clean make up brushes, i use Johnson's head-to-toe baby wash. its very mild and it smells clean and it does clean nicely. its so mild that it will not ruin your brushes.
If you have high quality brushes, you may want to use a brush cleanser that is specifically designed to clean, disinfect and condition your brushes.

Personally, I use MAC brush cleanser even though all of my brushes aren't MAC brushes.
id say use water and but just dip it..take out get the excess of...dip it again and take teh excess water off and keep doing it until the excess water is clean
    http://www.ehow.com/how_3175_clean-makeu鈥?/a>

they forgot to mention you should reshape the bristles before leaving them to dry, though.
Q tips are really perfect for putting on eyeshadow , then you can just throw them away
You can just wipe them off or kind of brush them on a paper towel, or not clean them at all if your the only one using them. Make up remover liquid works too. Good luck
I gently wash in warm (not hot) water my brushes with diluted shampoo

I rinse them very well, but again gently

    blot in a towel

reshape them and lay in the sun on the windowsill to air day
You can use a drop of antibacterial soap in a sink with warm water, swish, and rinse well.
I use the liquid soap that I use to wash my hands. Wash well, and then use a little hair conditioner to keep the bristles soft and untangled. Squeeze dry with a towel, and then lay out to dry overnight.
i use johnsons baby soap with water to wash them.
Use Shampoo in the sink swish wash and dry overnight. Or I also put in the dishwasher in utensil area. Only advise that for brushes not sponge like things.
    Johnson Baby Shampoo
I suggest getting an unscented bar of soap (Ex Ivory) and washing with that under warm water. Rinse well. You can pat them dry, but I recommend standing them up in a glass or something so that they keep their shape when they dry. If you want to dissinfect them, put rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle and spray them, then rub them down on paper towel. If you don't have time to wait for your brushes to dry from washing them, just do the second thing I mentioned with the rubbing alcohol. Rubbing alcohol dries fast, dissinfects, and also gets the makeup out of the brushes.
There is usually cleaner sold at little shops or salons that work great! Mine came is a quirt bottle and then just wipe off with bathroom tissue.

How can I clean my eyeshadow brushes? They never dry!!!!?

Really good brushes are an investment. You cannot just go out and buy new ones because good brushes are expensive and cheap brushes are just no good...honestly.

Lather your brushes in warm water with shampoo (I use a cheap brand like suave. Do not use one with a built in conditioner; it may bother your eyes and will not rinse out as well). Rinse and repeat until the water runs clear. Shake out extra water, shape your brush, lay them on a dry, clean towel and dry overnight.

Seriously one of the best investments in makeup is your brushes...I learned after years of purchasing cheap brushes. How can I clean my eyeshadow brushes? They never dry!!!!?
Use anti-bacterial soap- like Dial, and rinse them. Then either lay them out to dry on their own, or cheat like I do and blow dry them. If you do that though make sure you don't blow them out of shape- stop every few seconds and check that all the bristles are uniform and not all splayed out.How can I clean my eyeshadow brushes? They never dry!!!!?
buy new ones! you can buy a pack of like 10 for 2 dollars at walmart in the NYC section in the makeup isles. they should broably be changed every couple months so that you dont get bacteria in your eyes, and get an eye infection like conjuctivitis. they are cheap anyway, and you should always have extra!
After using the cleaning solution, pat them dry with a clean towel and let them air dry overnight.
How expensive are they? Not very!!! Just go buy some new ones. Thats like saying.. How can I clean my mascara brush??? You dont!! You just go buy a new one!!
Simply warm soapy water then wipe over with surgical spirit to sanitise them. Then leave them to dry flat on some kitchen roll.
YOU SHOULD DEFINATELY BUY NEW ONES! THEY R NOT THAT EXPENSIVE AND IT BEATS GETTING A VIRUS ETC. IN YOUR EYE. THEN YOU HAVE BIG PUFFY RED EYES. SPEND A FEW EXTRA $$$ AND HAVE SPARES
makeup remover is good!!!!just let it dry before you use if of course!!!

    Best Eyeshadow Brush?

What's the best eyeshadow brush for simply applying eyeshadow to the lid?

Is a blending brush the same as an average eyeshadow brush (to apply all over the lid)?Best Eyeshadow Brush?
MAC 239 is the best brush to pack colour on the lid. The blending brush is used so that you won't have such harsh lines when you use more than 1 eyeshadow colour on your lids. You'd end up having this nice gradient of colour instead. I like MAC's 217 and 224.Best Eyeshadow Brush?
you need an 239 shader brush from mac.. for just the lid

and for blending you can get a 224, also from mac

but if you're on a budget then you can easily find dupes on the internet or at sephora for cheaper.. or maybe drugstores..
    mac 217 for a sheer wash/blending

They're really about the same. But to make both last longer, I sweep on a layer of sheer or translucent powder. That way the eyeliner is protected from the skin's natural oils for a few hours longer.

If you put your eyeshadow on with a brush....?

do you need a eyeshadow base? and not use the spongey brushes

    - sponge ones

http://jackandhill.typepad.com/jack_and_鈥?/a>If you put your eyeshadow on with a brush....?
i personally do not like the sponge brushes. they carry too much bacteria that you dont need by your eye. if your using a mineral powder you dont need a base, but if not then yes use a base. a base prevents creasing. mineral eyeshadow doesnt crease. If you put your eyeshadow on with a brush....?
    no.

the base for eyeshadows are just to make your eyeshadow last longer.
No but you may find you get a paler colour result with a brush. Easier to blend though.
I use Avon's Mineral Eyeshadow and their Ergonomic Eyeshadow Brush. They work great and you do not need a base.

Can u apply eye liner using a flat brush and a dark eyeshadow?? i heard that somewhere?

how do u do that? Can u apply eye liner using a flat brush and a dark eyeshadow?? i heard that somewhere?
Yes, that's what I do! I buy an eyeshadow called ';Carbon'; from MAC cosmetics and a thin brush they sell there too and just simply apply it along my eye line! It's great and lasts a long time! They sell it at Macy's! I totally recommend it! Good Luck! Can u apply eye liner using a flat brush and a dark eyeshadow?? i heard that somewhere?
Yes you can. Apply it as you would with your kohl eyeliner, making it as close to your lash-line as possible. Sometime wetting the brush a little helps. Wait till it dries and use a bigger brush to smudge the line a little.

The result is a more natural look than using pencil/liquid eyeliner.
Yes, you can do that, and the flat brush is amazing for drawing straight lines. Instead of dark eyeshadow, I'd recommend using a gel eyeliner. Many of the respondents here quote MAC and I agree. I use their fluidline range and find that it really stays and doesn't smudge. I also use the flat brush from their range.
Yeah, you need a eyeliner brush and a darker eyeshadow. then use the brush right above your eyelashes. it work better then eyeliner.
ya i do it all the time. i use an angular brush intsead of a flat brush that works better. i just apply it near my lashes and they blend in more nicely than pencil eyeliner.
You want to use an angle brush... apply it into the lash line and smudge it in. It is pretty simple. Just make sure it gets all the way into the lash line... you can also use this http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jh鈥?/a>

as it will help turn any shadow into a true liner.
There are two types of liner brushes you can use. First there is this one:

    http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jh鈥?/a>

This one you use in very short strokes to get the eye shadow as close to the lashes as you can. I find this kind of brush a little more difficult to work with as you have to have patience. If you're experienced with liquid liner, you should have no problem with this type of brush.

    Then there is this type:

    http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jh鈥?/a>

I use this type more to dot the eyeshadow around my eyes. Being flat and stiffer than a regular eyeshadow brush, dotting around the eyes with this brush helps keep the line fine and straight. You'd brush it after dotting to blend the line so it's even.

    I hope this helps...
yes, you just slightly dampen the brush to make the shadow a bit heavier and darker. i usually use eyeliner, then go over it with a matching shadow for it to last longer.
eyeliner brushes work better. they are thinner and make it easier to make a thin line. also, it is easier to wet the brush and then sweep it in the shadow making a sort of liquid liner out of the shadow. hope that helps!!!!
You should use a small angled brush to apply. You can buy one from a makeup counter, like MAC. You can use any color to line you upper and lower lid. It's nice to use a light color below and a dark color above. You can apply the eyeshadow either dry or wet, depending on the look you are going for.

Does anyone know of a book that shows pictures of different ways to apply eyeshadow and what brushes to use?

A book by Bobbi Brown: The Ultimate Beauty Resource

Applying eyeshadow with a paint brush?

hi can anyone tell me if an eyeshadow can be applied with paint brushes?...coz i feel it wud be more comfortable than the makeup brushesApplying eyeshadow with a paint brush?
no but sometimes yes when you don't get makeup brushesApplying eyeshadow with a paint brush?
yes, an also apply lipstick with a rolling pin.
yeah why not. theyre just like makeup brushes.
i don't see any difference in them at all.actually, paintbrushes have proved more effective for me.the strands also last longer than the strands of make-up brushes do.and makeup is an art.its kinda like painting on your face(lightly, though, unless you're a model and are forced to wear makeup that looks like paint).
I only use them. Actual make-up brushes suck by comparison. I have been using paint brushes for many years now. I love them.

Depending on what you want to do with the shadow specifically, you need the correct type. There are many varying styles shapes and coarseness.

I use them for brows, shadow, liner (I use powdered liner), powdered base...

I use the sponge that is flat on its end and put blush on with that - usually the medium. The large I use for powdered base too, and the smallest one gets used as a blending utensil. They are in a three pack or sold individually....at least they are here.
Aww paint brushes are too big and the brush that comes with it should be the one that you use!
I don't know about eyeshadow, but I actually use a small paintbrush to apply eye liner. It really gives the liner a good look. I would day try to use it with eyeshadow, if it works, then what's the problem?

They sell various brushes, ranging from $4-$30 a piece, it just depends on which ones you buy.

In my opinion, I thought you should buy a set of Eco Tools. They come in their own little pouch, they're eco friendly (hence the name) and they're really soft and gentle. I got mine for $13, and I got 6 or 7 brushes (variety.)

As far as I know, you can pick up Eco Tools at Ulta, and at Walgreens. Those are the only places I've seen them. But I can imagine you can get them in other stores too, just keep an eye out for them.

    :D
At Marshall's I found really nice ones called Gotta B' Urban
    Ebay :)
I get my brushes from target. They don't have a huge selection, which is actually a good thing for beginners, because you won't get overwhelmed. They're pretty cheap, but still good quality.

    Good luck ;)

Eco Tools has great brushes that are eco-friendly and easy to use. You should buy the 5-pc. set which comes with an eye shadow brush, plus other nice (and incredibly soft) brushes. You can find Eco Tool brushes at Ulta and Rite Aid for around $13-14.

Sonia Kashuk also has cheap and high quality brushes. They can be found at Target for around $5-$10 a brush.

  • Whats the brush called that comes with the eyeshadow when u first buy it?im new at this please help!!!?

What's that little brush called with 2 ends that comes with eyeshadow when you first buy it? Can u use it to apply eyeshadow with all kind of colours instead of using all those fancy brushes?? If so does anyone have ANY videos or tips or anything im new at this and i wanna know how to apply foundation and eyeshadow and stuff please reply! Thankyou

SO MUCH!!!! Whats the brush called that comes with the eyeshadow when u first buy it?im new at this please help!!!?
it's called a sponge-tip applicator and it can be used to apply eyeshadow. however i wouldn't recommend using it. the thing about sponges is they absorb things, and so using them wastes your eye-shadows because they soak up all the color and you run out of eyeshadow quicker. also i find that it's very difficult to blend using these applicators, so i end up with not-so-attractive harsh lines.

using a brush would be the most preferable approach, and there are alternatives to buying expensive brushes, try looking at coastalscents.com they have a really nice range of brushes that are great quality and quite affordable. you could also look around your local craft stores to see if you can find any good quality paint brushes. leow cornell is a painting brand which makes many brushes that are comparable to mac brushes for a fraction of the price you would be paying at a mac store.

as for tips, i'd suggest you have a look on youtube. there are thousands of tutorials on just the kind of thing you're curious about. search foundation application and watch a few videos on that, you'll be surprised how much you pick up, and it's easier for you to see than have me explain. ditto for eyeshadow, you can even search specific colors and get a tutorial on exactly how to do it. eg search red and green make-up tutorial and you'll get tonnes of tutorials showing you how to do it. hope this helps!Whats the brush called that comes with the eyeshadow when u first buy it?im new at this please help!!!?

an eyeshadow applicator- usually sold in packs. yes u can use it to apply all colors!!

go to youtube and look it up or google it!!
    Heya,

Well it's usually called a sponge applicator or a flocked sponge. You can use it to apply all types of eyeshadow, but you'll get a less precise finish as it can be a bit clumsy. I have a full set of brushes, and more on the way, but you can get away with your foam applicator and one straight edged or round edged firm flat eyeshadow brush. You can get one for as little as 拢2 in Superdrug, then just keep it clean. I have a youtube channel but I'm just starting out, so it's not got a great many vides. Check it out, but also link to my favourites. As a beginner, you should look at panacea81, and Xsparkage. Nireyna is amazing, but you are unlikely to be able to imitate her at the moment, and she has astounding products too.

In terms of tips, I'd say:

    - you can wear whatever colours you want as long as you do it with confidence!

    - put a white or very light colour up near your eyelid for a highlight colour

    - an easy beginner look imvolves having two shades of the same colour, let's say lilac and purple, and applying the lilac all the way across your upper lid, then applying the dark purple in the crease on the outer edge of your eye in a %26gt; shape, so it runs along your upper lash line very finely, and into the crease of your eyelid, no further in than the centre. Then smudge it in, and it will give you a very easy, very defined look.

    - Look at other people's stuff to see what you like or don't like.

What are the best drugstore eyeshadow brushes?

For drugstore brushes, I love my Ecotools. They have a very nice, dense shadow brush that runs at less than $10, if I'm not mistaken. I just recently purchased the set of 5 brushes and a pouch for $10 (which was an uhh-mazing deal) that I would gladly pay for again if mine were to ever turn up missing. It came with a pretty rad shadow brush, the same one that sells individually for close to $10...definitely should check it out. I bought mine from Rite Aid.

i own so many brushes its ridiculous.. from MAC, clinique, some enviromental brand, bare minerals, and other various ones. If i see some brushes i think look like they are soft than i buy them. Do what you want. buy more brushes just to have a variety.. lol

Do you apply your eyeshadow with a sponge or a brush.?

I usually apply eyeshadow with a brush, and that is really how it should be in any case. Brushes really have a stronger color payoff and allow you to control where you put your eyeshadow.

The MAC 202 brush is usually meant for people who have to work with a lot of colors on one person (or a few people) and can't be bothered to have a lot of one type of brush to switch between when just putting on a color one time. If you're thinking about purchasing this brush, I would say that you should look far away from this and look at the MAC 239 brush. I can't seem to stop finding good uses for that brush.Do you apply your eyeshadow with a sponge or a brush.?

    BOTH!

brush when i want to just dust it on or sweep it. a brush is more versatile.

i use a sponge-tipped applicator when i want more vibrancy out of the color.
I use an array of different brushes. Usually a blending brush. You can get them for a dollar at eyesandlips.com
Fingertips mostly, but occasionally with a brush or Q-tip.
i do mine with a brush. it's more effective than using a sponge :D

=)What are th ebest eyeshadow brushes out there?
Bare minerals makes great brushes but I think any better brand in a drugstore would work well. I don't see why you couldn't use small paintbrushes. They just might be a little stiffer than a make up brush. What are th ebest eyeshadow brushes out there?
    Mac brushes.

They're the best you can get.
I agree, MAC brushes are the absolute best. They're made out of real hair, not synthetics, so they last a lot longer. :)

What kind of brush do I use for cream eyeshadow?

a sponge applicator (standard applicator), make-up sponge, or your clean finger-tip. Finger is probably the easiest to control coverage with, just use a light dabbing motion until desired coverage is reached. What kind of brush do I use for cream eyeshadow?
Their are brushes specifically for cream eye shadow. Smashbox has a great one, as does Sephora.

The Smashbox cream eyeshadow brush is #9 and retails for around $20.What kind of brush do I use for cream eyeshadow?
Cream eyeshadow normally are delicate and messy. Tips might help is to use just a dot of cream eyeshadow with your little finger and apply with upward according to your style.
If you can afford mac then i would say 212 or 231.

If not just any firm brush, or spoung applicator.

Or just your finger would work :)
you use a clean finger or one of those sponge wedge things.
    finger
just use your finger, it'll go on smoothest that way.

One, I applied very pale blonde to eye line then med.brown then drk brown, all with the same brush, it makes the blending on the brush so I have a nice muted shades of brown, I have always done this for years and years and years.A good brush is the key, not a cheepy one. It lasts forever. Have fun.How many eyeshadow makeup brushes did you use while applying your makeup today?

I used two brushes this morning. A normal eyeshadow brush for a mauve colour and a thick stiff lip brush for a dark green eyeshadow liner round my lashes

    A good eyeshadow/highlighting brush?

I currently have 2 brushes, the mac 239 and 217 for shading and blending, but i need another brush to highlight the brow bone. I can rarley use either of these two brushes because I use dark colours on them and I use a matte white for highlighting. Can anyone recommend a good brush for this? The cheaper the better, bearing in mind highlighting doesn't require that much precision. Also, I'm from the UK so no sephora etc :(

Any help is appreciated! :)A good eyeshadow/highlighting brush?
If you have the money for another MAC brush, then the 227 is really good for highlighting amongst other uses. It's really quite a versatile brush. Great for blending the highlight with your lid colour so that no harsh lines can be seen.

    Hope this helps :)

How do you organize your different color eyeshadow and brushes for each?

I have small drawer things from Target that I put all of my makeup in.

And a cup for my brushes. How do you organize your different color eyeshadow and brushes for each?
I have a brush and a few applicators. For the wilder colors I use a different applicator for each (and it's easy to tell which it is!) but for the neutrals I use the brush. If you have a large collection, try arranging them using a clear plastic qtip holder.

Iam in the process if buying mac makeup ,can anyone tell me the best eyeshadow brushes or anything about mac ?

I want to know what is the primer they first start with ,when they put it on before the eyeshadow and i would love to know if mac has good conclear ,anyone help please !!!!Iam in the process if buying mac makeup ,can anyone tell me the best eyeshadow brushes or anything about mac ?
well mac is a good brand but if you go to crazy it will let out your inner drag queen lol... and plus it's bad for oily skin types---but i say go to macys n let them do it for you or even check out their website... you don't have to get all your cosmetics mac get the best of every brand.... but if you wanna start i say get a kit most likely they come with brushes make sure to tell em that's what you want and ask for freebies!!! cuz they won't just give it to you lol

get multi use products get a primer for your face instead of just the eyes.... and get a triple concealer compact with diff shades of your skin one n green n yellow - for blue bags n redness

i get my concealer from the drugstore- physicians formula, my primer is from benefit-dr.feelgood

and remeber good skin is the best to start out anything if you don't follow a good facial regime i say invest in your skin then the makeupIam in the process if buying mac makeup ,can anyone tell me the best eyeshadow brushes or anything about mac ?
MAC has absolutely amazing products, there are tons of different types going from creme, powder, and liquid. It is really dependent on your skin type (dry-normal-oily) and color on what you should use. Your best bet is to go into a MAC store and ask the artists there, they are very helpful and are willing to go step by step through the process and what you should get.

That is how I first got into being a makeup artist just be willing to experiment to see what works best for you that doesnt mean it necessarily has to be MAC (although I highly recommend mac to my clients)
i would but i don`t wear make up
